On February 25th, 125 industry professionals attended the 6th annual ISEE Eastern Canada Chapter AGM in Ottawa, featuring a keynote on alcohol and drug awareness, eight technical presentations, and a Sundown Social. The chapter continues to grow, with plans for a November event in Newfoundland.
The Board of Directors of the International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Buck Hawkins as new Executive Director. Buck started the position on March 17, becoming the fourth Executive Director of the organization. As we move into our next chapter, we thank Steve Shivak for his dedication to the society while he ushered in new operational systems, including the new ISEE website and educational programs.
ISEE is thrilled to announce that Cathy Aimone-Martin has been awarded the Second Paper Award at the 51st Annual ISEE Conference. Her paper, "A Comparison of International Vibration Standards for Quarry Blasting Close-in to a Residential Structure," was recognized for its exceptional research and its practical contributions to the field of explosives engineering.
