Important Information for 51st Conference Attendees

On Behalf of Executive Director Steve Shivak - I want to update you on the 2025 ISEE Conference in Cherokee, NC January 21-26, 2025. Thankfully, the 51st Conference hotel did not suffer any damage from the Hurricane.

On Behalf of ISEE Executive Director Steve Shivak 

I want to update you on the 2025 ISEE Conference in Cherokee, NC January 21-26, 2025.

  • The Conference hotel did not suffer any damage from the Hurricane.
  • If you are flying in for the conference, the Asheville Airport is open and we will have shuttle service from the Asheville Airport to Harrah’s Cherokee Resort.
  • If you are driving to the conference, some roads to get to Cherokee have been damaged.  However, there are many alternative routes to access Cherokee, NC in the event the major roads are not repaired by the time the conference begins.

Second - Conference Information:

  • Plan to arrive by Wednesday, January 22nd.
    • The ISEE Membership Meeting will take place Wednesday, January 22nd and when it ends we immediately start the Welcome Reception in the exhibit hall.
  • Over 90 technical papers are being presented Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, January 23-25. Including 30 posters on Saturday afternoon.
  • Our 2-day Blaster’s Training program takes place Friday and Saturday, January 24-25.
  • A brand new seismograph program is being introduced at the conference. Specific details on the agenda, date, and time will be out soon.
  • Only six exhibit spaces remain until the exhibit floor is sold out.
  • The Blaster’s video round-up takes place Saturday afternoon and the conference concludes Saturday evening with our All Clear Cheers and Beers Closing Reception.

Finally, you and I know individuals impacted by the recent hurricanes. It probably comes as no surprise to learn that our fellow ISEE Members have been helping individuals, families, and companies impacted by the hurricane and I want to convey my sincere thank you for your incredible help.
