The 13th World Conference on Explosives and Blasting took place September 23–25 in Krakow, Poland, drawing more than 550 participants, including exhibitors and delegates from around the world.
The weekend began with an Emerging Professionals reception on Saturday at the Aquarius Restaurant along the Vistula River, which brought together 130 attendees. On Sunday, a pre-conference demolition workshop was held at the AGH University of Science and Technology with 75 participants, followed by an opening reception featuring 43 exhibitors and welcoming remarks.
More than 50 technical presentations were delivered on Monday and Tuesday, covering a wide range of topics including blast vibration and seismology, blasting work experiences, demolition blasting, drill and blast design methods and modeling, explosive detection for security, health and safety in drilling and blasting, innovation and technical development, new applications and training, and sustainability and environmental considerations.
A networking dinner on Monday evening at Stara Zajezdnia Kraków featured food, drinks, and traditional Polish dancers. During the event, Jerry Wallace, ISEE Past President, received an Honorary Member Award, becoming the first recipient outside of Europe, recognizing his significant contributions to the industry.
The conference concluded with a post-conference tour on Wednesday to the Gig Experimental Mine and the Nitroerg factory, attended by 85 participants.
The 14th EFEE World Conference is scheduled for September 12–14, 2027, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
