SEE Education Foundation Announces New Blasters Training Stipend Program

The Society of Explosives Engineers Education Foundation (SEE Foundation) is pleased to announce a new program for drillers, blasters and other related field personnel – The Blasters Training Stipend Program. The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to field workers needing training or re-training which will improve their knowledge of drilling and blasting technique.

Cleveland, Ohio, USA —The Society of Explosives Engineers Education Foundation (SEE Foundation) is pleased to announce a new program for drillers, blasters and other related field personnel – The Blasters Training Stipend Program. The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to field workers needing training or re-training which will improve their knowledge of drilling and blasting technique. The program can be used to learn new technologies, applications, and/or to obtain training/retraining hours needed for certification in drilling and blasting. 
  
The SEE Education Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization created in 1996 to serve the long-term education interests of the explosives industry through the development of education and training materials, championing the inclusion of explosives instruction in engineering curricula and awarding scholarships to eligible students. This new program extends the foundation’s outreach beyond university scholarships to benefit the education and training of drillers and blasters in the field. 
  
The financial reimbursement of up to $2,500, shall be used for training related expenses including: training registration fee, hotel, airfare, mileage, meals and parking. If the accepted applicant is not a current member of ISEE, a 1-year membership will be added to the value of your award. 
  
To be eligible applicants must: (1) be employed in the blasting field and currently performing blasting-related activities; (2) Identify training that will enhance their blasting or blasting support skills; (3) Be willing to attend the training at their own cost and submit receipts for reimbursement. Applications will be reviewed within 30 days of receipt. 
  
Examples of programs that qualify include: IMESAFR Training, National Mine Health and Safety Academy, Southeast Blasters Training Conference, Best in the West Drill and Blast Conference, Ohio Drilling and Blasting Conference, Kentucky Blasters Conference, Pennsylvania Drilling and Blasting Conference, Potomac Chapter’s Bi-Annual Blaster’s Educational Seminar, Mid-America Blasting Conference, Australian Chapter’s Drill & Blast Down Under Conference, Western Canada Chapter’s Annual Conference and General Meeting, and ISEE Blaster Training Seminar held at ISEE’s Annual Conference on Explosives and Blasting Technique. Many other trainings too numerous to list here are also eligible. 
  
The International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE) manages and invests the funds of the SEE Foundation, and, in so doing, promotes explosives engineering for the public good through research, education and other constructive efforts. The SEE Education Foundation aligns with the mission of the ISEE, a 501 (c)(6) not-for-profit organization, whose mission is to enhance the safety, science, skill and benefits of explosives engineering, worldwide.
