It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ron (Ronald) Joseph Mask who passed peacefully while surrounded by his family on July 31, 2026. A beloved Husband, Father, Papa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and Friend to many. Ron is survived by his wife Laurie (Hoelke) and three sons Michael (Shannon Recoskie), David (Shannon Mackenzie), and Jonathon (Jade Catana). Son of Sally (Dota) and the late Patrick Mask, brother to Delmer, Dale, Brenda (Allan Mullin) and Sandy. Adored Papa to Lily, Cole, Kylie, Heidi, Wesley and Baby Thomas. He was a great man and wonderful friend to all who’ve known him, including many around the globe.

Ron loved people and always did his best to help others and make their day “Great”. He enjoyed hunting, travelling the world and spending time at the Mask Cabin with family and friends. As many also know, Ron cherished the annual Beef Bash and always looked forward to gathering with familiar faces as well as new friends.

In keeping with Ron’s lifelong commitment to the explosives industry, the Mask family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the SEE Education Foundation.

The Society of Explosives Engineers (SEE) Education Foundation supports scholarships, blaster training and stipends, educational resources, the Children’s Fund, and the advancement of explosives engineering knowledge.
