Fred L. DeGasperin, 59, of Warren, Mich., formerly of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., died on Oct. 25, 2018, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. Fred was born February 19, 1959, in Troy, Ohio, a son of the late Fred and wife Anna Belle "A.B." (Liston) DeGasperin.

Fred L. DeGasperin, 59, of Warren, Mich., formerly of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., died on Oct. 25, 2018, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.
Fred was born February 19, 1959, in Troy, Ohio, a son of the late Fred and wife Anna Belle "A.B." (Liston) DeGasperin.


He was a graduate of Miami East High School in 1977 and graduated from WVU in 1981 with a degree in mining engineering. Fred was a U.S. veteran of the United States Airforce. He served during Desert Storm and was a crew member on a B-52 from 1985-1992. He worked as a sales representative for Ensign-Bickford Company. Fred retired as a mining inspector in West Virginia in 2016.


He is survived by his wife, Kathy McLaughlin; his sisters Mary Ann (Steve) Karnes, Toni DeGasperin; nieces and nephews, Heather (Scott) Schmalbach, Eric (Ashley) Karnes, Lindsay Christie, Sean Christie, Christie (Alex) Visconti, Stephanie (Matt) Alexander, Kyle McLaughlin, Sheila, Rachel, and Erin Madding, Jenny (Aaron) Welch, Alex and Emma McLaughlin, Joshua Wendland, Danielle (Joshua) Koenig, Sara Wendland; great-nieces and nephews, Sydney, Dean and Xander Schmalbach, Kaia Karnes, Bella Madding, and Autumn Wendland; mother-in-law, Sue Kelly; sisters-in-law, Patty Madding and Karen Wendland; brothers-in-law, Mark McLaughlin, David (Rose) McLaughlin.


Friends will be received at the St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 324 East Main Street; on Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Father Andy Switzer as Celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Howesville, where graveside Military Honors will be accorded. A fellowship meal will be provided following the graveside service.
