David Ondrejko

David Edward Ondrejko, 62, of SR 517, died in the emergency room at Salem Community Hospital Sunday, March 24, 2013.

Born July 3, 1950, in Zanesville, he was a son of the late Edward F. and Lelia V. (Moore) Ondrejko-Cameron.

Before retiring, he worked as a blaster and site manager for D.W. Dickey/Hilltop Energy Mr. Ondrejko was a Vietnam veteran of the army. He served with U.S. Army Company B, 1st Bn., 2nd Inf., 4th Inf. Division earning a Bronze Star with Valor. Long standing member with the International Society of Explosive Engineers.  He is survived by his wife, Amy L. (Ewing) Ondrejko; a daughter, Jillian (MalVerne) Inniss of Charleston, S.C., and four grandchildren.

Other survivors include brothers Wayne of Lebanon, Ohio, Daniel of Lakewood, Colo., and Robert of Howland; sisters Joyce Stepien of Wichita, Kan., Cinde Martinelli of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Mary Anna Ondrejko of Huxley, Iowa.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Douglas K. Burnsworth

Doug BurnsworthDouglas K. Burnsworth, 63, of Chester Hill, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Edgar W. and Marilyn E. (Wilcox) Burnsworth, born Nov. 30, 1949, in Uniontown. He is survived by his significant other, Susan Carpin Myers, of Chester Hill.

He attended the Hollidaysburg Christian Alliance Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the B.P.O. Elks #1173 in Philipsburg.

Mr. Burnsworth was the owner and operator of Reich Drill and Douglas Explosives, both of Philipsburg.

He was a 1967 graduate of the Albert Gallitan High School of Masontown and attended the Pennsylvania State University.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Burnsworth was preceded in death by a brother, Richard W. Burnsworth and a great-niece, Kelsey Burnsworth. He is also survived by a nephew, Rick Burnsworth of Philipsburg; a niece, Debra Lust of Apopka, FL; a great-niece, Devin Burnsworth of Altoona; a great-niece and Ava Lust and a great-nephew, Grant Lust, both of Apopka, FL.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Click here for directions.

Karen Powers

Karen Powers, 54, passed away on Jan. 31, 2013. She was employed by Accurate Energetic Systems, in Tennessee, for nearly 19 years. During her tenure, she fulfilled many roles one of which was AES’ transportation manager. She was an active ISEE and IME member and represented AES on numerous occasions.

Karen will be deeply missed by her family, colleagues, customers and friends in the Industry. She is survived by her mother Macy Rial; her husband Robert Powers; her children Lauren and Cody Powers; and granddaughter Kaylee Parsons.
