ISEE Membership Categories

The ISEE has several different classes of membership, Members, Associate Members, Corporate Members, Student Members, Emeritus Members, and Life Members. Admission to membership is upon approval of application.

A Member is any individual working in areas of engineering using the application of scientific principles and techniques related to the use, handling, manufacture, transportation and storage of explosives. Members in good standing have the privilege of holding elective office, voting for officers and directors and voting on changes to the Constitution.

An Associate Member is an individual who is interested in explosives engineering, but not qualified to be a Member. He or she has all the privileges of a Member except that he cannot hold elective office or vote on changes to the Constitution.

Corporate Membership
is granted to organizations rather than to individuals. The Corporate Membership entitles the organization to a maximum of three (3) votes and a maximum of three (3) representatives at society events at special member rates. The organization is not limited nor required to send the same three people to all functions. Corporate Members have all the privileges of Individual Members, except a corporation may not have more than one individual serve as an elected official of ISEE at any time. A Student Member is enrolled full-time in a college or university in a related field. A Student Member shall enjoy all the privileges of membership except that a student member cannot hold elective office, vote on officers and directors, or vote on changes to the Constitution.

Emeritus Membership
may be granted, upon request by the member or recommendation by a member of the Board, and approval by the Board, to members who have reached 65 years of age and have retired from active business. They must have been members in good standing for at least ten (10) years prior. An Emeritus Member shall not be subject to dues or assessments, and shall enjoy all the privileges of membership.

Life Membership
may be granted by the Board upon such terms as the Board shall deem appropriate. A Life Member shall enjoy all the privileges of Full or Associate Membership according to the individual's qualifications.
