What is ISEE's International Affiliate Program?
ISEE's International Affiliate program enables organizations committed to the same goals within the explosives industry to collaborate with ISEE to improve safety, security, and technology in the manufacturing, transportation, storage, use and disposal of explosives materials. ISEE and its affiliates work together to reach out to, educate, and lead the world's explosives users in improving and advancing the art of explosives engineering. Affiliates are formed pursuant to the ISEE Constitution, by ISEE headquarters staff after initial discussions with an organization interested in collaborating with ISEE.

In keeping with ISEE's goal of establishing and strengthening working relationships with related national and international associations, government agencies, academic institutions, and allied societies having common or related objectives, the focus of ISEE's International Affiliate program is to improve the industry. This task is undertaken by promoting education of the public, policy makers, and others in the industry about the principles and techniques of explosives engineering and the contributions that explosives engineers make to society and promoting improved technology, career development, education, qualifications, and professional competency of blasters. ISEE's International Affiliate program is international in scope.

Why Participate in an International Affiliation?
There are many benefits to participating in an International Affiliation with ISEE. Through this program, organizations will:

Build trusting, cooperative relationships with each other
Network with others committed to explosives engineering
Leverage resources to maximize improvements in the technology, safety and security in the commercial use of explosives

Who Can Participate in an International Affiliation?
International Affiliations are open to international groups such as Trade Associations and Professional Societies.

In some cases, organizations may be cooperating with ISEE for the first time. In others, they may be building on existing relationships with the Agency that were developed through other collaborations.

How Do International Affiliates Work?
There are few formal program requirements for International Affiliates. However, ISEE and the participating organization should develop a set of mutual goals that fall into at least one of the following categories :
Training and Education
Outreach and Communication
Technical Assistance
Promoting an International Dialogue on Explosives Engineering

After the Alliance is Formed?
ISEE and its International Affiliations will work together through the ISEE International Committee to develop strategies and implement programs or processes to meet the mutually defined goals.
