Bomb
Suit Donated to Explosives Museum
A recent donation to the SEE
Education Foundation almost could have come from
the award winning movie "The Hurt Locker".
The Foundation museum recently received a
donation of a bomb disposal suit made up of six
separate parts of equipment used for personal
protection including a fragmentation helmet,
torso protection, collar, leg chaps, foot
protection, groin plate and a monolithic face
shield with chest protection. The EOD suit
is designed to military specifications and is
used by agencies around the world including the
military, FBI, and local law enforcement.
The ISEE has many members that participate in
the world of the bomb technicians and
investigators, some full time and others
volunteering their time. We are pleased to
salute the work that these dedicated members do
in their safety and security work by welcoming
the new museum display. A special salute
goes out to ISEE Member, Michael Savioli, SEB
Bomb Squad, for facilitating this contribution.
Over the past nine years the ISEE Explosives
Museum collection h as
continued to grow with donations of artifacts,
historical blasting and mining equipment, inert
product displays, seismographs, books, articles,
and much more, that have come from many parts of
the industry.
Members, their families, and industry friends
have shared personal collections to help the
Society build a collection of museum items that
tells the story of the commercial explosives
industry and related fields such as mining,
quarrying, construction, seismology, special
effects, bomb disposal, avalanche control,
explosives manufacturing and use, and more.
To donate artifacts, old blasting and mining
equipment, vibration monitoring artifacts,
powder displays, books, maps, articles, or to
make a cash contribution to the museum or
Foundation please
