You are
invited to participate in the 35th Annual
Conference on Explosives and Blasting Technique.
Celebrating 35 years of service to the industry,
this top notch informative and marketing event

its kind in the world for those involved with
the manufacture, transportation, storage, and
use of explosives and related products.
Call
For Papers
The ISEE Conference Program Committee is
issuing an industry-wide Call for Papers to be
presented at the 35th Annual Conference and
published in the Conference Proceedings.
Here's your chance to share your techniques,
strategies, solutions, product innovations, and
research discoveries with your peers.
Your idea should
be submitted in the form of a 200-400 word
abstract (summary) highlighting the major points
of your 10-15 page paper. Non-workshop papers
may not be commercial in nature.

ISEE ABSTRACT GUIDELINES
Requirements
In 200-400 words, your abstract should summarize
the major points of your proposed 10 page paper.
It should be written so that it makes sense
standing on its own and should cover the work
done, recommendations made, conclusions drawn,
as a result of the project, case, or study.
Peer
Review Process
Abstracts are considered by a committee of
explosives industry professionals using a blind
review process. The Committee will determine the
paper's relevance and substance based on the
following criteria:
Purpose and reason for work
Quality and quantity of data
Experimental procedures
Application to industry
Conclusions based on data presented
Selection
and Acceptance
Abstracts will be used only for tentative
selection. Final selection and acceptance is
based on the completed paper submitted on time.
Author
Instructions
Detailed
instructions regarding paper format and
presentation requirements will be sent to
authors along with their notification of
abstract acceptance.
Notification
Notification of acceptance or rejection of
abstracts will be sent August 4, 2008.
Official Language
All papers must be submitted and presented
in English, the official language of the
Conference.
Publication & Registration
Only papers received in the proper format by
the deadline and presented at the Conference
will be published in the Proceedings. Copyrights
to all papers published become the property of
ISEE. Presenters are required to register for
the Conference by December 1st.
Presentation of Your Paper
The Program Committee will assign each paper
to a session upon acceptance of the completed
paper. The paper will be assigned to a General
Technical Session or Blasters Forum Poster
Session. Authors whose Papers are assigned to
Technical Sessions will have 20 minutes to
present their paper and 10 minutes for questions
and answers.
For papers
selected for the Blasters Forum Poster Session,
authors will present their poster during a 90
minute session of one-on-one discussions with
conference attendees. Posters will stay in place
for one day according to the Program Schedule.
Your
Audience
The Conference provides a forum for field
blasters, supervisors, suppliers, service
providers, manufacturers, educators, researchers
and others for discussion of practical and
technical information on the latest techniques,
product innovations, software and hardware
release, and research discoveries.

General
Sessions
Accepted
Papers scheduled for presentation in the General
Sessions are presented by authors to the
audiences in a lecture style format with time
for questions and answers. Papers in the General
Session are peer-reviewed and published.
Blasters Forum Poster Session
The Blasters Forum is a multimedia poster
session with one-on-one interaction. Authors
will display papers on poster board and use
audio visuals to enhance their presentation in a
small group setting. Papers for the Blasters
Forum are also peer reviewed and published.
Benefit By Attending
This Conference is the largest gathering of
its kind in the world for those involved with
the manufacture, transportation, storage,
disposal, and use of explosives and related
products.
Attending will be field blasters, supervisors,
suppliers, service providers, manufacturers,
educators, and researchers who want practical
information on the latest techniques, product
innovations, and research discoveries.
Registration begins in September on-line or by mail.
Video
Roundup
The Committee is also seeking blasting
related videos for the Blasters-R-Us Video
Roundup. Please submit your 6 minute video with
a description of the activity and individuals
being shown. No paper or presentation is
required for the Video Roundup. No commercial
videos will be accepted. Sorry, we cannot return
videos.
