Blastserve Rules
Introduction - As with any community, there are
guidelines governing behavior on the Blastserve.
By joining ISEE's Blastserve, you agree that you
have read and will follow the disclaimer and
rules set for this peer discussion list. For
instance, violating antitrust regulations,
libeling others, selling, marketing, and other
inappropriate discussions are not permissible.
Discussions on this list are meant to exchange
information about technical matters, not for
debate or to create contention and not to
discuss industry standards, matters of
association policy, government regulation, or
public policy. Questions of Society policy
should be addressed directly to the ISEE
Executive Director and/or the members of the
Board of Directors. In addition, ISEE may
periodically send announcements to participants
for information purposes.
Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with
these important rules. If you have any questions
regarding appropriate postings, contact the
list manager
before posting. ISEE will have the right, at any
time and without notice, to add to or modify
these Rules simply by posting such changes on
this page. Your access to or use of the web site
after the date such amended terms are posted
shall be deemed to constitute acceptance of and
agreement to such changes.
The list can be used to ask technical questions
of your peers.

subject matters.
ISEE's purpose is not to monitor messages before
they are posted to the list. The Society
reserves the right to take appropriate action,
withhold a posting or to suspend or terminate your subscription
for violation of the rules. Accordingly,
submitting a message to the Listserve is not a
guarantee it will be posted. Please adhere
to the following rules:
Code of Ethics - All members of the
Society are required to comply with the
standards of conduct for engineers as set forth
in the ISEE Code of Ethics, Fundamental
Principles and Canons, as a condition of
continuing membership in good standing. As such,
ISEE Members agree to uphold and advance the
integrity, honor and dignity of the engineering
profession, strive to increase the standard of
excellence of the explosives industry, and
support the profession and technical societies
of their disciplines. The Code applies to
conduct on the Blastserve as well.
Libel and Slander - Remember that
information posted on the lists is available for
all to see and all comments are subject to the
principles of ethics, common courtesy, and
decency. In addition, libel and slander laws
apply. Posting of defamatory, abusive, profane,
threatening, offensive, or illegal comments is
strictly prohibited.
Antitrust - Messages should not be posted
if they encourage or facilitate members to
arrive at any agreement that either expressly or
impliedly leads to price fixing, a boycott of
another's business, or other conduct intended to
illegally restrict free trade. Messages that
encourage or facilitate an agreement about the
following subjects are inappropriate: prices,
discounts, or terms or conditions of sale;
salaries; profits, profit margins, or cost data;
market shares, sales territories, or markets;
allocation of customers or territories; or
selection, rejection, or termination of
customers or suppliers.
Copyrights & Tradenames - Do not post any
information or other material protected by
copyright without the permission of the
copyright owner. By posting material, the
posting party warrants and represents that he or
she owns the copyright, trademark, or tradename
with respect to such material or has received
permission from the copyright owner. In
addition, the posting party grants ISEE the
nonexclusive right and license to display, copy,
publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use
such information or other material.
Listserve - DO'S
* DO include a signature tag on all messages.
Include your name, affiliation, location, and
e-mail address.
* DO state concisely and clearly the specific
topic of the comments in the subject line. This
allows members to respond more appropriately to
your posting and makes it easier for members to
search the archives by subject.
* DO include only the relevant portions of the
original message in your reply, delete any
header information, and put your response before
the original posting.
* DO only send a message to the entire list when
it contains information that everyone can
benefit from. Contact individuals directly with
products or services that you believe would help
them or to respond personally to a message.
* DO send messages such as "thanks for the
information" or "me, too" to individuals, not to
the entire list. Do this by using your e-mail
application's forwarding option and typing in or
cutting and pasting in the e-mail address of the
individual to whom you want to respond.
* DO warn other list subscribers of lengthy
messages either in the subject line or at the
beginning of the message body with a line that
says "Long Message".
* DO make administrative changes to your e-mail
address directly by using the personal settings
at the bottom of each Blastserve message. Be
sure to also update your e-mail address on your
ISEE membership record at
Member
Address Change

proprietary right of a third party.

e-mail address or header.
* DO NOT send a message on behalf of
corporations, organizations and/or associations.
Such information should be sent directly to the
Executive Director.

and understand and accept the terms of the
